One of the advantages of outdoor high-voltage vacuum circuit breakers is their simple operation, ease of use, and minimal maintenance workload. The vacuum interrupter itself requires no maintenance. Once the vacuum circuit breaker is installed and adjusted as required, it can be put into operation. It is advisable to check the vacuum degree of the interrupter before commissioning. Daily maintenance is straightforward, requiring only the following:
1、Keep the outdoor high-voltage vacuum circuit breaker clean. Special attention should be paid to promptly removing dust from insulators, insulating rods, and other insulating components; use a clean, dry cloth to wipe dust off the insulating shell of the vacuum interrupter.
2 、Ensure all moving and frictional parts are properly lubricated with clean lubricating oil to maintain flexible operation of the operating mechanism and reduce mechanical wear.
3、Timely replace parts with severe wear.
4 、Regularly inspect all fasteners to prevent loosening.
5、Frequently observe the color of the vacuum interrupter when interrupting current. If any suspicion arises, conduct a vacuum degree test. If the vacuum degree fails to meet the minimum operating requirement, replace the interrupter promptly.
6、Regularly check the contact stroke. If the deviation from the specified value is excessive, make timely adjustments. Changes in contact stroke reflect the wear of the interrupter contacts. Therefore, records must be kept after each contact stroke adjustment. When the cumulative wear reaches the specified contact wear thickness, the interrupter should be replaced. It is crucial to use an interrupter of the same model for replacement; users should not arbitrarily substitute it with other models. Any substitution must be discussed and studied with relevant professionals.
Comprehensive inspection and adjustment of outdoor high-voltage vacuum circuit breakers during operation depend on the application scenario and the frequency of operation. For circuit breakers with infrequent operation—specifically, operating no more than one-fifth of their mechanical life per year—at least one inspection should be conducted annually throughout their service life. For those with frequent operation, the number of operations between two inspections should not exceed one-fifth of their mechanical life. For occasions with extremely frequent operation or when approaching the end of mechanical or electrical life, the inspection cycle should be appropriately shortened.
