As an electrical equipment product, cable distribution boxes are most sensitive to internal moisture, which can easily lead to accidents. However, internal moisture issues in cable distribution boxes may occasionally occur and cannot be completely avoided, especially when used in humid environments. What we need to do is solve the moisture problem inside cable distribution boxes. So, how to address moisture in cable distribution boxes?
Solutions to Moisture Problems Inside Cable Distribution Boxes
        1. Constant Heating Method
Install electric heating wires with a power supply inside the switchgear to maintain relative dryness internally. This solution is suitable for humid environments. Notes:
        ●  The power supply for the electric heating wires should not be drawn from the switchgear itself but from a separate power source. This ensures the heating wires can continue operating even when the switchgear is powered off.
        ●  Calculate the capacity of the electric heating wires to keep the temperature inside the switchgear within the range allowed by insulation requirements.
        2. Air Drying Method
This method is relatively simple: continuously blow a small amount of dry external air into the switchgear through a pipe, creating a slight positive pressure inside (i.e., the air pressure inside is slightly higher than the outside). The blown air leaks out through gaps in the switchgear, preventing external humid air from entering.
        ● The air volume depends on the air leakage of the switchgear; a small continuous flow that keeps air leaking outward is sufficient.
        ● It is preferable to have a compressed air system on-site, as a small pipe can be connected directly to the compressed air line.
        ● For automation, a slight positive pressure gauge can be added: the air intake valve automatically closes when the required pressure is reached and opens when pressure drops, saving energy.
