    GCS type low-voltage withdrawable switchgear

    Product Overview
The GCS-type low-voltage withdrawable switchgear (hereinafter referred to as the "equipment") is a low-voltage withdrawable switchgear jointly developed by the Joint Design Team in response to the requirements of industry authorities, numerous power users, and design institutes. It is tailored to national conditions, features high technical performance indicators, meets the development needs of the power market, and is competitive with existing imported products. Currently, this equipment has been widely adopted by power users. The equipment is suitable for power distribution systems in industries such as power plants, petroleum, chemical engineering, metallurgy, textiles, and high-rise buildings. In scenarioses with high automation levels that require computer interface integration—such as large power plants and petrochemical systems—it serves as a low-voltage complete power distribution device for power distribution, centralized motor control, and reactive power compensation in power generation and supply systems. Key specifications include: three-phase AC with a frequency of 50 (60) Hz, a rated operating voltage of 380V (400V, 600V), and a rated current of 4000A or less.

    · Structural Characteristics

    1. The main frame of the GCS equipment manufactured by Daya Electrical Group adopts 8MF section steel, and the frame is constructed in two forms: assembled frame and partial welding. All main frames are provided with mounting hole modules (E=20mm).

    2. The functional compartments of the equipment are strictly separated, mainly divided into functional unit compartment, busbar compartment and cable compartment, with the functions of each unit being relatively independent.

    3. Functional Unit

    a. The module of the drawer height is 160mm, with 5 specifications: 1/2 unit, 1 unit, 3/2 units, 2 units, and 3 units. The rated current of the unit circuit is 400A or less.

    b. The change of the drawer only varies in height dimension, while its width and depth dimensions remain unchanged. Drawers of the same functional unit have good interchangeability.

    c. Each MCC cabinet can install a maximum of 11 one-unit drawers or 22 1/2-unit drawers. Among them, drawers with more than one unit adopt a multi-functional back panel.

    d. The incoming and outgoing lines of the drawer adopt plug-ins of the same specification with a chip-type structure and different numbers of chips according to the current magnitude.

    e. The transfer between the 1/2-unit drawer and the cable compartment adopts a back-panel type ZJ-2 adapter.

    f. The transfer between the unit drawer and the cable compartment adopts rod-type or tube-type ZJ-1 adapters of the same size, graded by current.

    h. The drawer unit is not equipped with a mechanical interlocking device.

    5. Feeder cabinets and motor control cabinets are equipped with dedicated cable compartments. The connection between the functional unit compartment and the cable compartment is realized through adapters or transition copper bars, which not only improves the operational reliability of the cables but also greatly facilitates the installation and maintenance of the cables for users.

    6. The number of auxiliary contact pairs for the functional units of the equipment is 32 pairs for one unit and above, and 20 pairs for 1/2 unit, which can meet the needs of automated users for computer interface integration.

    7. Considering the popularity and safety of dry-type transformers as well as the economy of oil-immersed transformers, the equipment can be easily configured as a unit with dry-type transformers or conveniently connected to the low-voltage busbars of oil-immersed transformers.

    8. With drawers as the main component, the equipment features both withdrawable and fixed types, which can be mixed and combined for optional selection.

    9. The equipment is designed for both three-phase five-wire and three-phase four-wire systems, allowing design institutes and users to easily select the PE+N or PEN configuration.

    10. The cabinet's protection class is IP30 or IP40, which can be selected according to user requirements.

    Installation and Operation

After the product arrives at the destination, first check whether the packaging is intact. If any issues are found, promptly notify the relevant departments to complete commercial records, jointly analyze the causes, and properly handle the certification and follow-up matters. For products not to be installed immediately, they shall be placed in an appropriate locations and properly stored in accordance with the requirements of normal usage and the temporary storage regulations for electrical equipment.

    1. The product installation shall be carried out in accordance with the installation diagram. The base channel steel and bolts for bolted fixing shall be provided by the user. For the main busbar connection, if the surface is uneven due to transportation, storage or other reasons, the connection and tightening shall be performed after rectifying the unevenness.

    2. When the equipment is installed as an independent row, the deviations of its verticality, cabinet surface flatness and cabinet door gap shall comply with the requirements shown in the following figure.

    3. Inspection and Test of the Product After Installation and Before Commissioning

    a. Inspect whether the cabinet surface paint or other coating materials (such as powder coating) are damaged, and whether the interior of the cabinet is dry and clean.

    b. Check if the operation of electrical components is flexible; there should be no jamming or excessive operating force.

    c. Verify the reliability and accuracy of the make-and-break action of the main and auxiliary contacts of key electrical components.

    d. The drawer or withdrawable mechanism should be flexible and easy to pull/push without jamming or collision.

    e. The centerlines of the moving and fixed contacts of the drawer or withdrawable structure shall be aligned, and the contact between the contacts shall be tight. The insertion depth of the main and auxiliary contacts shall meet the requirements. Mechanical interlocking or electrical interlocking devices shall be correctly installed, and both locking and unlocking shall be reliable.

    f. Drawers of the same size should be easily interchangeable without jamming or collision.

    g. The grounding contact between the drawer and the cabinet shall be in close contact. When the drawer is pushed in, the grounding contact of the drawer shall make contact before the main contacts; when pulled out, the grounding contact shall break after the main contacts.

    h. The scale setting of instruments, the transformation ratio and polarity of transformers shall be correct.

    i. The fuse link specification shall comply with the requirements of the engineering design.

    j. The rated value and trip setting of the relay protection shall be correct, and the action shall be reliable.

    k. The insulation resistance measured with a 1000V megohmmeter shall not be less than 1MΩ. (Note: Corrected the logical error in the original Chinese—insulation resistance should be "not less than" instead of "not greater than" to meet safety standards.)

    i. The connection of each busbar shall be sound, and the insulation supports, mounting parts and other accessories shall be installed firmly and reliably.

    4、Precautions for Operation

    a. This equipment is a low-voltage power distribution cabinet designed for freestanding installation, front-side operation, and double-side maintenance. Only qualified professional personnel are permitted to access the maintenance corridor or open the cabinet door for operation, inspection, and overhaul.

    b. After multiple switching operations (especially short-circuit switching) of air circuit breakers and molded case circuit breakers, local contact burning and carbon deposition may occur, leading to increased contact resistance. Maintenance and overhaul shall be performed in accordance with the circuit breaker operation manual.

    c. After installation and maintenance, it is mandatory to strictly verify that the isolation between compartments and functional units has been fully restored to ensure the equipment's reliable functional separation and prevent fault escalation.
